Hotel Winter Garden: New Luxury Hotel

Downtown Winter Garden is entering another exciting chapter. Hotel Winter Garden, a new luxury boutique hotel planned for the heart of the historic downtown district, officially broke ground on July 20, 2026. The project is being built at 8 N. Highland Avenue, at the corner of Plant Street, directly across from Winter Garden City Hall.

A Luxury Boutique Hotel in the Heart of Downtown

Hotel Winter Garden will be a four-story property featuring 60 luxury guest suites, including 10 penthouse suites with balconies overlooking the downtown district and West Orange Trail.

Plans also include restaurants and lounges, event and meeting spaces, and a second-floor pool and cabana bar. A pedestrian entrance along Plant Street will connect the hotel directly with the activity of Downtown Winter Garden, while the primary guest and valet entrance will be located along North Highland Avenue.

Dining, Events and a New Gathering Place

The hotel is being designed as more than simply a place for visitors to stay.

Current plans include Paradiso, a contemporary-casual restaurant overlooking Plant Street, as well as Iliana, a more intimate fine-dining concept. The property is also expected to offer ballroom and event space for weddings, celebrations, meetings and other gatherings.

For residents, this means the project could become another dining and entertainment destination within walking distance of the shops, restaurants, farmers market and events that already make Downtown Winter Garden such a popular gathering place.

Designed to Feel Like Part of Winter Garden

One of the most interesting aspects of the project is its architecture. Rather than introducing a building that feels disconnected from historic downtown, the design team is using what has been described as a “mercantile vernacular”style intended to complement the character of the surrounding district.

That approach is particularly important in Winter Garden, where historic architecture and the atmosphere along Plant Street are such an important part of the city’s identity.

Another Sign of Downtown Winter Garden’s Growth

The hotel has been years in the making, with plans for a boutique hotel at the property dating back to 2018. Its groundbreaking represents another significant investment in Downtown Winter Garden as the area continues to evolve.

The project is also expected to create more than 150 jobs, ranging from hotel operations and valet services to food and beverage positions.

According to the Hotel Winter Garden website, construction is underway, with completion currently anticipated in 2027. As with any project under construction, timelines and individual details may change before opening.

For me, projects like Hotel Winter Garden are another example of why it is so interesting to watch this community grow.

Winter Garden continues to attract new restaurants, businesses, cultural destinations and investment while preserving many of the qualities that make its historic downtown distinctive. A luxury boutique hotel gives visitors another opportunity to stay directly within the community rather than simply visiting for the day.
